Internal Prerequisites for the Global Competitiveness of the Chinese Higher Education System

Abstract

The article analyzes the internal prerequisites of the international competitiveness of the Chinese higher education system. The main directions of the state policy of the People’s Republic of China aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the national system of higher education are highlighted.

The role of competitiveness factors in China’s modern educational paradigm is clarified. The role of the country’s central government in promoting policies to accelerate academic improvement and achieve world-class status by Chinese universities is traced.

The priority importance of higher education in China’s development strategy in the 21st century as a factor in supporting social stability, internal integration and innovative development is demonstrated.

The consistent and rigorous implementation of its own model of higher education development with Chinese characteristics demonstrates the ability to compete with the leading national systems of the world and actively promote its technologies, standards and values in the global educational area.

The obtained results showed the effectiveness of using both direct and indirect internal interventions to create prerequisites for the global competitiveness of the Chinese higher education system.
