The History of Uman State Pedagogical University: the Classification of Sources

Abstract

The article is an attempt to analyze, cover and systematize a source base of the history of Pavlo Tychyna Uman Pedagogical University. The author classified and systematized the complex of sources of the history of university, which made it possible to chronologically reproduce the state of higher pedagogical education in the Soviet period; the processes of reforms and transformations of the system of higher pedagogical education in an independent Ukraine; the process of organization and the activity of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, its educational divisions, the creation of educational and material base of the institute, the formation of teaching stuff and student contingent, the organization of educational and methodological, scientific work.

According to the origin, content and scientific value, documents and materials may be roughly divided into several groups: documents of archival institutions; periodicals; electronic resources. Periodical materials are especially interesting and representative. Along with other sources they are factual materials for studying history of Pavlo Tychyna USPU.

All documents, irrespective of their origin, formulate the idea of various aspects of the activity of Uman Pedagogical University, but, in accordance with the content, they may be divided into documentational and organizational materials and documents characterizing an educational process and scientific activity.
